Hi, I'm Roger Metcalf, a professional photographer based in the Boston area, with a passion for capturing authentic, honest, and powerful imagery for my personal and corporate clients.
My goals are straightforward: to make the most interesting, and beautiful photographs possible, and for my clients to have wonderful experiences.
Photography Style & Approach
My photography is rooted in (but not limited to) the principles of photojournalism, and as such I specialize in reportage-style photography, which is to say, what sets me apart from others, is my ability to capture moments in creative ways, as they occur organically, rather than constructing or overly manipulating them.
My style allows the emotion and atmosphere of the moment I am covering, to unfold without interference. For personal and family events, such as weddings, I start with meeting with my clients in advance, building comfort and rapport, so that we can work together as a team on your special day, and have the photography feel as seamless as possible.
I offer a versatile range of services, from traditional portraiture, family photography, corporate event coverage, lifestyle photography for brands, and of course a bit of rock and roll.
In addition to my digital work, I am also a traditional film photographer and offer both film-only and hybrid (film & digital) photography services. I work with a variety of film formats, including 35mm, 6x4.5cm, and 6x7cm, providing a unique, timeless aesthetic that sets my work apart.
The combination of analog and digital photography allows me to offer a range of creative options to suit any project.
